About ASAP-Bio

A university partnership building human capital, institutional capacity and knowledge in Integrated Sustainable Animal Production Systems (ISAPS) across East Africa and Denmark.

Our objective

To contribute to sustainable livestock production, food security and biodiversity conservation in East Africa by strengthening African–Danish university partnerships that generate qualified graduates, durable institutional capacity, and relevant knowledge in ISAPS.

How the project works

ASAP-Bio is funded under the DANIDA Knowledge and Innovation Programme and runs on two parallel components.

Outcome 1

Partnership

Co-developed, cross-credited MSc course modules; staff exchanges and capacity-building workshops; a shared open-access knowledge platform; and equitable joint governance. Runs 2026–2030.

Outcome 2

Scholarships

28 full-degree MSc scholarships, 25 shorter research stays, and six summer schools. Prepared in 2026, active from 2027, completing by mid-2032.
